Hey Rockabillies and Modern Pin Ups!
We at FASHUNLINE have received quite a few inquires about the retro inspired hairstyles you've seen from our shoots. So here's a quick review of our top Pin Up 'dos with links on how to achieve these looks with little effort.
Top Left: DRY FINGERWAVES aka The Veronica Lake - You've seen this look on on a number of modern betties and starlets on the red carpet today. They hairstyle gives any outfit a retro glam allure and looks equally as elegant with a daytime wiggle dress.
Top Right: VICTORY ROLLS- What comes around goes around...so what's not to love about this updo with cascading curls? This hairstyle looks especially rockabilly with a bandana.
Bottom Left: ROLLED BACK DO- This one you're going to have to try at home without talking pictures but not to worry, it's a piece of cake.
First, match your retro noir dress perfectly with this femme fatale hairstyle. Part your blow-dried hair from the middle. Twist one side and pin it up at the back of the nape. Do the same with the other side. Now connect both the ends and roll them making a bun annnnnnd voilà! You are ready with a delicious rolled back updo. For an extra refined palette, you can also smooth down the top with a fascinator as shown in the picture.
Bottom Right: BEDROOM HAIR- That "I Woke Up Like This," look. The sleek, modern, tousled hair we see everywhere was not at all popular back in the day...but we still think big, weightless volume looks phenomenol with all the retro looks.
